The club was founded in 1994, and construction of the course began the same year. By June 1996, the course was ready for play. The course was designed by Kamil Pilát and features a flat layout, situated on forest meadows with the exception of two holes located directly in the woods.

The Bechyně golf course is located within the Černická Obora nature reserve, established by Petr Vok of Rožmberk in 1586, just 7 km from Bechyně. At the heart of the reserve lies a rectangular meadow measuring 500 × 200 meters, home to over twenty ancient trees. Five of the nine holes are situated on this meadow. The majestic broad-crowned deciduous trees present a dual challenge: on one hand, you’re captivated by their beauty; on the other, you find yourself strategizing how to hit a shot without striking a tree. Additionally, there are two unique forest holes where straying from the fairway almost always means a lost or unplayable ball.

The Bechyně course is considered a gem in terms of its integration into the surrounding landscape. Particularly at sunset, the course exudes a serene and noble atmosphere. This is further enhanced by the historic manorial fortress, which houses the clubhouse and restaurant, as well as the nearby Baroque chateau near the driving range. The holes on the central meadow are straightforward and flat, but players must account for the presence of trees and the overall shot length. Several troublesome ditches (penalty areas) can trap a ball upon landing. In contrast, the forest holes feature tighter turns and require precise ball placement due to the surrounding vegetation.

Overall, the course is not easy, but beginners can particularly enjoy the central meadow. There aren’t many bunkers around the modest greens, with fairway bunkers located mainly between holes 2 and 7. Regardless of your score, the exceptional setting guarantees a pleasant experience.

Our golf club takes great pride in being the oldest in South Bohemia.
